Godfrey Hirst is excited to be associated with The Home Team and we will be following this inspirational make-over each week as it happens.
Pick up some handy hints for your own home as you keep track of this fantastic transformation.
Week 1 of The Home Team saw demolition begin and the team get their hands dirty, with walls, trees and old carpet removed and the plan for the new design revealed.
As well as DIY tips on plastering, painting and planting, The Home Team visited Godfrey Hirst for some expert advice on choosing carpet and hard flooring that will complement the new interior.
Glimpses of the home’s new look are beginning to appear this week, with the master and girl’s bedrooms both complete. Julia had plenty of work for James in the workshop, putting together some great storage and decorating pieces, and he also had some great DIY tips on installing insulation.
The exterior of the home is also coming together, with the roof tilers finishing up and Anthony choosing bamboo and fruit trees to create a garden sanctuary.
This week saw the completion of the third bedroom, styled with a young boy in mind. Julia and James worked together to create some unique bunk beds, which complement the bedroom’s creative toys and artwork.
Anthony installed some huge feature plants in the garden and discussed how to make a statement in your backyard. He also provided some handy tips on choosing the right kind of lawn seed for your garden.
Week 4 has wound up, with Anthony providing some garden inspiration with citrus trees, as well as installing a tiled garden staircase. Julia completed a laidback rumpus room featuring Godfrey Hirst Timber as a base for her creative and colourful style. James also put together a clever study nook with left over flooring timber!
Week 5 of The Home Team saw the rumpus room styling completed by Julia as she continued to introduce vibrant artwork and statement furniture pieces.
James showed how easy our Timber range is to install on your own.
Work on the bathroom steamed ahead and Anthony began work on the grand entrance for the front of the house.
This week saw work on the master ensuite completed. The focus then switched to the main living zones.
Installation of Godfrey Hirst Regal Oak Handcrafted timber took place, and Julia began to bring furniture into the dining area. James was busy in the kitchen, choosing luxurious stone benchtops and helping the experts install bi-fold windows.
Anthony was busy preparing a garden bed for a maple tree and also undertaking some maintenance on Julia’s indoor plants.
It’s week seven and the Home Team has delivered the kitchen in time for Christmas.
James helped the experts install the new laundry fit out, including installing Godfrey Hirst’s own Vinyl Plank product Omega, in colour Golden Oak Light.
Downstairs, Godfrey Hirst’s Hycraft Caribbean carpet will bring to life the theatre room, whilst outside, work on the pool continues.
Week 8 and we thought it was time to look back on what The Home Team has achieved on the show so far.
With some help from the Godfrey Hirst Timber Flooring range the old sitting room has become a relaxing rumpus room and the dining room has been transformed into a fantastic open plan living space.
The master bedroom has been transformed into a great space with the help of our Godfrey Hirst eco+ carpets.
The kids’ bedrooms have been given a whole new look with eco+ Sunrise.
The Home Team are into the final stages of the project and have been busy putting the finishing touches on this stunning transformation.
This week we saw Julia add a gorgeous printed glass wall panel featuring a pear outline. Anthony was busy boosting street appeal with a feature reflection pool, more stunning buxus balls and carefully trimmed hedges. The man cave/theatre room space was also revealed, featuring our Hycraft carpet Caribbean, a stunning level loop pile for a textured yet soft feel underfoot.
Home Team Wrap Up
After 10 weeks of excavation, heavy lifting, sanding, painting, planting and polishing the Home Team has beautifully executed this giant renovation project and has exceeded all their transformation expectations. With a well thought out floor plan, statement furnishings and impressive artwork, Julie, James, Anthony and the team have rejuvenated this once old, beaten house into the stunning modern family home originally visioned by the architects.
