400 George Street is a 34 storey A-Grade commercial office tower totalling 43,529m2, developed in a joint venture partnership by Grosvenor Australia and Leighton Properties.
The objective behind 400 George was to create a thoughtfully designed environmentally sustainable office environment with comprehensive supporting amenities – a vertical village.
Leighton Properties Director, Andrew Borger said the Cox Rayner project team’s holistic approach to sustainability showcased industry best practice with far reaching benefits to the community as a whole.
The Green Building Council of Australia’s (GBCA) 5 Star – Office Design rating is awarded to projects that champion Australian excellence in environmentally sustainable design.
“This achievement recognises the significant scope of the project’s sustainability initiatives ranging from water and energy savings to indoor environment quality, sustainable materials, transport and innovation,” Mr Borger said.
