New Design Approach to Retail Banking
The Queensland Country Credit Union's (QCCU) new building design reflects the organisation's streamlined approach to business. Sustainability was an important factor in the overall design as they strive for a paperless working environment and greater operational efficiency.
The project involved the development of a new banking chamber based on the latest design approach to retail banking to suit the QCCU’s evolving service model. Featuring a 28 seat training room, ergonomically designed workstations, interaction and conversation spaces, informal sales pods and a children’s activity area.
A simple palette was chosen for the flooring to suit the modern interiors and complement the organisation's signature colours of burnt orange, yellow and grey. Carpet tiles custom cut on various angles create star and circular patterns to mark informal conversation spaces. The bold colour palette is recreated throughout the fit out to highlight collaborative zones. Steel grey and midnight steel tones are used to enhance harmony in the work environments.
