Kidney Kar Rally

Kidney Kar Rally 2018 - Godfrey Hirst proudly sponsored Kar 11, The Millennium Falcon, in this year’s epic journey from Goulburn to Queanbeyan via Ballarat.

Now in its 30th year, the annual Kidney Kar Rally takes entrants thousands of kilometres across the Australian countryside raising much-needed funds to support kids living with kidney disease.

Godfrey Hirst proudly sponsored Kar 11, The Millennium Falcon, in this year’s epic journey from Goulburn to Queanbeyan via Ballarat. Winding through 4000km of stunning NSW countryside and Victoria’s lush alpine region, the 8-day event was a test of skill for the eclectic mix of over 50 vehicles, from predominately pre-2000 Aussie made cars to the brilliant modern day pink Suzuki Vitara!

Not just a memorable experience, the Kidney Kar Rally also aims to educate local communities about kidney disease and the importance of prevention, detection and support. Living with kidney disease can be extremely challenging, with dialysis often required 3 days a week up to 5 hours at a time to stay healthy.

For children, this can be a very isolating experience so each year the Kidney Kar Rally is committed to raising funds to support these ‘Kidney Kids’ and give them the opportunity to enjoy life whilst still receiving the necessary life-saving medical care.

A big congrats all rally entrants who raised over $560,000 this year and to Kar 11 on their amazing adventure!

With the next rally expedition travelling from Port Macquarie to Armidale via the Capricorn Coast in 2019, make sure you visit www.kidneyhealth.com.au to find out more or to donate to this great cause!
