A VERY exciting week on The Home Team for us here at Godfey Hirst. The Luxury Vinyl Planks (Orion vinyl planks in Mink) were installed in the entry, hallway and kitchen through to the kitchen, living area and study and the carpet installed in the lounge room.
The wide vinyl planks in deep walnut tones connects these spaces beautifully. The bi-fold doors open up to the timber deck extending the kitchen and living areas creating a seamless transition between the two spaces.
With the vinyl floors installed Julia was able to style up the study. Using the feature wallpaper as the base for her styling palette she created a light and bright interior with greens, blues and white in the sofa, desk, cushion, plants and artwork. Picking up on the timber in the vinyl flooring she added complementary timber in the coffee table, chair legs and accessories.
Of course, other things happened - Leah made DIY dot wall hooks, Julia shared styling tips, James polished the decking while Anth created minor miracles in the garden. But for us, this week was all about the fabulous flooring and carpet.
The Team chose Luxury Vinyl Planks, which are right on trend at the moment. They are durable, scratch-resistant and water proof so can be used from living areas right through to the laundry, kitchen and bathrooms.
The versatile vinyl planks have a genuine timber appeal with textured knots and grains, beveled edges and come in a range of timber tones.
‘The texture in these [vinyl planks] is brilliant, they seriously look like the real deal.’ Julia Green, Greenhouse Interiors.
Leah talks up the softness and stain resistance of the freshly installed Eco+ carpet. We had no idea Buzz the tradie's dog was a canine carpet connoiseur, he gave the carpet the roll test and clearly approved. He must know that eco+ carpet has a lifetime pet guarantee and cleans with just cold water.
Tips from Week 7
- If you have a dog or cat, choose a pet-friendly carpet. Eco+ carpet has a lifetime pet guarantee and cleans with just cold water.
- Not sure where your carpet should stop and your hard flooring should start? The doors define where this seam will be, that way the door itself will cover the join.
- Stain your bi-fold doors to match your vinyl flooring. This will help create a seamless transition from inside to out.
- With a versatile timber look vinyl floor you can pick up on other features like artwork or wallpaper to create the palette for the room.
