Whether it’s an interest in renovation, curiosity about the processes behind it, or just the vicarious thrill of watching everyday Aussie’s transform an ordinary suburban house into a contemporary masterpiece, sharing Kyal and Kara’s Long Jetty renovation journey so far has been absolutely inspiring!
A beach house with a Palm Springs vibe, this single level property is distinguished by light and space, three metre ceilings and show-stopping windows, all combining to create an eminently liveable family home. The commitment to pre-build planning, along with interior mood board mapping, ensured Kyal and Kara’s vision has been realised without any major hitches (even if Kara did have reservations about the size of the pool!)
The breezy beach feel so beloved by this utterly telegenic duo, incorporates integrated indoor/outdoor living spaces and many shades of white - from an Australian first use of Colourbond roofing in the matte finished Surfmist, white gabling and Taubmans Barely Beige exterior paint, to the bedrooms and media room with their modern colonial look wall panelling.
Along with crisp Cotton Sheets white on the walls, the choice of elegantly textured Hycraft Ravine multi-level loop pile carpet in perfectly matched Oatmeal, tied all this together.
The soft, 100% wool carpet is luxurious enough to suit bedrooms and boasts an ACCS Residential Extra Heavy Duty rating, making it ideal for the busier foot traffic of a living room.
We’re proud and delighted by not only how perfectly matched our superb Hycraft Ravine carpet looks in this stunning family home, but how pleased Kyal and Kara are with their choice.
Spoiler alert: upcoming episodes may include some fabulous Godfrey Hirst timber flooring too. Keep watching!
