Godfrey Hirst has combined innovative carpet manufacturing with breakthrough Sorona® polymer technology to develop eco+ carpet.
Godfrey Hirst eco+ triexta carpets are made from Sorona® polymer which contains 37 percent renewable plant-based ingredients.
By using renewable, farm grown materials, Sorona® places less reliance on limited natural resources, facilitates reduced energy use and fewer greenhouse gas emissions during production*.
How triexta carpet is made
- The process begins by harvesting crops.
- The natural sugar, or glucose is extracted from the crops, then processed and transformed into Sorona® polymer.
- Sorona® polymer is extruded to manufacture triexta yarn, which is then twisted and heat set.
- The triexta yarn is made into Godfrey Hirst eco+ triexta carpet for your home.
