The Design Duo ‘Twin Off’
Alisa and Lysandra, or The Design Duo have just completed their highly anticipated ‘Twin Off’!
After their 2013 win on The Block, the designers have built their businesses, Alisa and Lysandra Interiors and A.live Body. From 2018, they have showcased their incredible design projects, both residential and commercial, with their series The Design Duo.
The Design Duo 'Twin Off' spans across six episodes, following Alisa and Lysandra as they build their own family homes, side by side. Every week, a new episode is aired, featuring identical rooms from both houses, showcasing their unique style and designs. With a healthy level of friendly competition, the series revolves around viewers guessing which design will stand out most. We are thrilled to have been part of this fun project by supplying both carpet and hard flooring for each home. With contrasting light and dark flooring for the two homes, it was exciting to be witnessing viewers' reactions as each room was unveiled.

With their love of natural materials in their interior design projects, Alisa and Lysandra featured wool carpet in the bedrooms, WIR, living rooms and study, and engineered timber in the kitchen, dining, and entranceway.
Lysandra chose a darker colour palette, with Oak Elegance in colour 180 Coffee Oak complementing the darker and cosier finishes, and Alisa chose Oak Elegance in colour 510 Coastal Oak, for a more light, airy atmosphere. With no two planks alike, the unique grains and textures of the real timber brings an authentic look to the design.
Choosing from our Feltex Carpet range of wool carpets, Alisa used Whenua, while Lysandra used 8th Wonder. As well as the luxurious, velvety feeling underfoot, Alisa and Lysandra appreciated wool’s natural insulating properties, keeping their homes warmer in winter and refreshingly cool in summer.
