A high-density fibreboard core provides stability and impact resistance, meaning laminate is a sturdy floor that can withstand the heavy foot traffic of a busy home. Some Godfrey Hirst laminate ranges also feature enhanced water resistance^, making them suitable for high spill zones.

Laminate Construction Explained
- The wear layer is enhanced with aluminium oxide providing outstanding stain, scratch and impact resistance as well as protecting your floor. Textured embossing on the surface of the floor provides a realistic textured finish that imitates real timber. The added texture ensures a natural appearance and authentic feel.
- The design layer is a very high-definition image of a real timber floor that accurately replicates the richness and colour of the wood whether it be a European Oak or an Australian native species design.
- The core is made from High Density Fibreboard (HDF) that consists of wood fibres and melamine resin that are pressed at high-temperature to create an extremely durable and stable core with very high impact resistance. Our range also includes products with enhanced core treatments and locking systems that further enhance water resistance and performance.
- A moisture-resistant melamine bottom layer balances the product preserving the structure and ensuring the board resists cupping or bowing.
